We are lucky to have an active and longstanding community here which has been actively promoting Ireland for many years, by building economic development, raising awareness of our culture, and creating a positive image of Ireland in Hong Kong and Macau. Irish Culture

Promoting Irish culture is an important part of the Consulate’s work. We work with key organisations to enhance the opportunities to enjoy Irish culture, including music, poetry, theatre, and film.

Emigrant Support Programme

Grants are available to Irish organisations in Hong Kong and Macau and across the world, focusing in particular on the most vulnerable of our emigrants.

Presidential Award

The Presidential Distinguished Service Award for the Irish Abroad recognises sustained, distinguished service to Ireland, its communities abroad or its international reputation.

St. Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick’s Day is a global celebration of what it means to be Irish, and the Consulate uses the opportunity every March to celebrate with Irish communities and to showcase Ireland.
