Ireland on Screen – Images of Liberty

As the first event on our calendar of commemoration and celebration, Ireland will be a special guest at the 12th Annual Pantalla Pinamar film festival in this Atlantic coast town in Buenos Aires province, in March.
1916 Reenactment and St Patricks Day Celebrations
16th-20th March
This year’s St Patricks Day parade in Buenos Aires, will have commemoration at its centre, marking both the bicentennial of the Argentine Declaration of Indpendence, as well as the Easter Rising. The festivities will include a parade and a re-enactment of events at the GPO on Easter Monday 1916.

A week-long Irish theatre festival in Buenos Aires will feature dramatized readings both of classic Irish works from the revival period and modern Irish drama, delivered by a cast of Argentine actors.
