Independence to Interdependence – International Affairs Symposium

This symposium on political and economic relations will explore the experiences of Ireland and Argentina exercising sovereignty in a multipolar world. Recalling the aspirations put forth in the 1816 Argentine Declaration of Independence and the 1916 Irish Proclamation of Independence, panels of experts, convened under the auspices of the Argentine Council on International Relations (CARI) and the Institute for International and European Affairs (IIEA), will discuss the regional and global role of both countries in the anniversary year of these historic events. The symposium will have a sectoral focus on areas of common interest to both countries, and will explore the complementarity that exists in areas as diverse as agribusiness and the digital economy.
