Australasian Irish Studies Conference
The 21st Australasian Irish Studies conference will be held at Maynooth University, Kildare, Ireland from 18 to 20 June this year. The conference series was initiated in 1980 by the distinguished Irish historian Oliver MacDonagh.
This conference 35 years after the first one promises to honour a tradition that is multi-disciplinary, rotating between Ireland and the antipodes, and showcasing recent research and writing on Ireland itself, on the Irish in Australia and New Zealand and on the Irish diaspora generally. Papers and lectures will cover history, literature, contemporary politics and migration studies. Keynote lectures will be given by distinguished scholars including Guy Beiner from Israel and the Irish scholars Margaret Kelleher and Terence Dooley.
Registrants will find it a rich and rewarding insight into the contemporary state of research and writing on diverse areas of Irish history, literature and culture.
Further details on the programme and how to register are available on the Australasian Irish Studies Conference website.
