Griffith & Algebra College Student Exchange Agreement

Croatia’s Algebra and Ireland’s Griffith College recently signed a co-operation agreement that will see the two institutions of higher learning embark on the first-ever students exchange of its kind in Croatia.
Lord of the Dance Tour in Croatia

Michael Flatley’s Irish dance and music spectacles have had a large following in Croatia over the last few years. The latest Croatian tour of the Dangerous Games production proved that Irish culture remains well-appreciated here as the cities of Split, Zadar, Zagreb and Rijeka hosted the show in mid-October.

Chaired by Mr Domagoi Hajduković, MP. Ambassador Harrington exchanged views with the Group on the state of Croatian-Irish relations and discussed opportunities for further co-operation.
14-16th June
The programme of events for Bloomsday Pula took place from 14-16 June and included 13 separate events. Highlights included a screening of Joseph Strick's 1967 film of Ulysses; a public reading of Ulysses including by the Ambassador; an exhibit on Joyce's time in Pula; a public lecture on Joyce; an exhibition of Irish Dancing; and a performance of Joyce's children's play "The Cat and the Devil".
Embassy celebrates its first St Patrick’s Day in Zagreb

The 17th of March - St. Patrick's Day and the national day of Ireland - was celebrated in Zagreb this year with particular energy and enthusiasm. The Irish Government was represented by Minister of State Kevin Humphreys, T.D.

The Embassy's permanent home opened to the public on 17 March - St. Patrick's Day! This is the first resident Embassy of Ireland in Croatia and one which we intend will promote the links - human, commercial and cultural - between the two countries.

Ambassador Harrington met the Speaker of the Sabor (Parliament), Mr Josip Leko to discuss co-operation between Ireland and Croatia and relations between the Dáil (Irish Parliament) and the Sabor. The Ambassador also received a tour of the Sabor.
