On behalf of the team here at the Embassy, welcome to our website, where you can find information relating to our work.
I am honoured to represent Ireland as Ambassador to the Czech Republic. The ties between Ireland and the Czech Republic date back many centuries, to the arrival of the first Celtic tribes. Today, there are strong links between our two countries, both bilaterally and within the context of the European Union.
It was in 2004, under the Irish Presidency of the EU, that the Czech Republic became an EU Member State. Since then, we have welcomed many thousands of Czech citizens to Ireland and a strong community of Irish citizens exists in the Czech Republic. I look forward to celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Czech Republic’s entry into the EU in 2024, and to further strengthening the links between Ireland and the Czech Republic over the coming years.

Jménem týmu Velvyslanectví Vás vítám na našich webových stránkách, kde naleznete informace týkající se naší práce.
Je mi ctí reprezentovat Irsko jako velvyslanec v České republice. Vazby mezi Irskem a Českou republikou se datují zpět mnoho staletí do doby příchodu prvních keltských kmenů. Dnes mezi našimi dvěma zeměmi existují silné vazby, a to jak bilaterální, tak v rámci Evropské unie.
Právě v roce 2004, za irského předsednictví EU, se Česká republika stala členským státem EU. Od té doby jsme v Irsku přivítali mnoho tisíc českých občanů a v České republice existuje silná komunita irských občanů. Těším se na oslavu 20. výročí vstupu České republiky do EU v roce 2024 a na další posilování vazeb mezi Irskem a Českou republikou v následujících letech.
