LÉ Samuel Beckett leaves Malta

The LÉ SAMUEL BECKETT will shortly complete its deployment in OPERATION PONTUS having spent almost 2 months in the Mediterranean. She is the third Irish Naval vessel to deploy to the area of operations under OPERATION PONTUS. The vessels and crews have undertaken humanitarian rescue operations at sea. Over the course of the operation they have rescued over 8,000 men, women and children from the perils of the deep.
