Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton T.D. led an Enterprise Ireland education mission to the Republic of Korea on 20-23 November. The Minister addressed the 6th Asia Europe Ministers (ASEM) Education Meeting and met with a number of key partners, including Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon and Deputy Prime Minister/Minister for Education Kim Sang-kon and other EU and ASEAN Education Ministers.

Minister Bruton also signed an updated Memorandum of Understanding with Deputy Prime Minister/Minister for Education Kim Sang-kon, addressed students at Hanyang University, and took part in a number of strategic meetings, aimed at improving links between Irish and South Korean institutions. The Minister was also present for the signing of continued agreements on student exchanges between the Dublin Institute of Technology and Hanyang University, Kyungpook National University and Soongsil Univeristy. Minister Bruton also took part in a celebration marking the many years that the Emerald Cultural Institute and the Centre of English Studies have been involved in the Korean market.
