May I apply for a Multiple Entry Visa?

Anyone is free to apply for a multiple journey visa on payment of the appropriate fee. However, the following should be noted:

Payment for a multiple journey visa does not confer any entitlement to be granted a multiple Journey, or indeed any visa. You may be granted a multiple entry (MJ), a single entry (SJ) or refused a visa according to the decision of the visa officer;

Multiple journey visas are in general only issued to regular business travellers, applicants who are assessed as bone fide travellers, certain spouses and/or dependent children of Irish/EEA nationals;

Applicants for long stay employment, study or join Irish/EEA/3rd country family members to reside in Ireland, are generally only granted a single journey visa. They can obtain a multiple journey visa after registration with the appropriate authorities (Garda National Immigration Bureau) in Ireland;

Multiple journey visas are, in general not issued to other categories, save in exceptional or unusual circumstances.
