Welcome Message
A chairde,
My name is Sarah McGrath and I am from the village of Clarecastle in Co. Clare on the west coast of Ireland. I am thrilled to have moved to the Little Red Dot and proud to be the first Irish woman to hold the role of Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore.
Representing Ireland in Singapore in an honour and a privilege and I look forward to broadening and deepening the many connections which already exist between our two island nations during my time here.
I am proud to lead a small but dedicated team here at the Embassy which works in partnership with Bord Bia (The Irish Food Board), Enterprise Ireland (Trade) and IDA Ireland (Inward Investment) to promote Irish interests in Singapore, to build the bilateral relationship and to provide consular and visa services.
People are at the heart of what we do, and the active and diverse Irish community here in Singapore will be a major priority for me, along with getting to know Singaporeans and others based here who have links to or an affinity for Ireland.
I feel very lucky to have arrived at a time when we return to in-person meetings and events, and I look forward to meeting many of you in the months ahead. If you aren't subscribed to our newsletter – please email the Embassy and ask to be put on the mailing list so you can keep up to date with Irish happenings in Singapore. You can also follow me and the Embassy on social media and find links to our various services here on the website.
Le gach dea-ghuí,
Sarah McGrath
Ambassador of Ireland
