St. Patrick's Day 2015

Mr Damien English T.D. , Minister of State for Skills, Research and Innovation was the guest of honour at the St. Patrick’s Day reception in the Carlton Hotel. In his speech, he noted that Ireland's economic recovery has gained strong momentum helped by sold growth and job creation. Ireland achieved the fastest growth in the European Union in 2014, with GDP growth of almost 5%. He thanked Slovakia and the Irish diaspora for their support and acknowledged that the Irish community living in Slovakia can be counted amongst the strongest and most valuable advocates for Ireland. He noted that the Presentation Sisters do great work in Špisske Podhradie and Bratislava. the Slovak Shamrocks GAA club and the Irish dancing schools promote our culture and sport in Slovakia and many Irish business people give generously of their time to support the development of bilateral trade.
