Joyce's Dublin - a concert by tale of the Gael

Tale of the Gael treated their audience in Bratislava to a superb evening of Irish music and song.

On 15 June, 2016, the Irish traditional music group, Tale of the Gael, performed a wonderful concert in the Zichy Palace in Bratislava taking the audience on a journey through Dublin's history and introducing its heros and writers including James Joyce, one of the Ireland's most famous writers.

The audience enjoyed music and song linked to Dublin and to Bloomsday. Bloomsday commemorates Thursday June 16th, 1904, the day depicted in James Joyce's novel Ulysses when Leopold Bloom, the central character in the book takes a journey through Dublin meeting a host of other characters - real and fictional.

Tale of the Gael performers - singer - Deirdre Starr, Catherine Rhatigan on the harp, Robert Tobin on the flute and whistles, Mickey Dunne on the pipes and Dave Aebli on the bouzouki and double bass received a standing ovation at the conclusion of their performance.
