On 1 December 2016 Ambassador Kelly formally opens a new flagship Primark store in central Amsterdam.

30 November: Ambassador-designate HE Mr Kelly presents his credentials to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander

On 30 November 2016, Ireland's Ambassador-designate HE Mr Kelly presented his credentials to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, thus formally becomign the Ambassador of Ireland to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

28 November: Ireland at the 21st Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention

From 28 November to the 2 December 2016 the Embassy of Ireland, with representation from the Non-Proliferation and Disarmanent Unit of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, attended the 21st Conference of the States Parties to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Poduction, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction.

16 November: Ireland at the 15th Assembly of States Parties to the International Criminal Court

From 16 to the 24 November, the Embassy of Ireland, with representation from the Legal Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, attended the 15th annual meeting of State Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

16 June: Curlew Theatre delights Dutch audience with Bloomsday performance supported by Embassy

On 16 June 2016, the Embassy of Ireland supports Bloomsday performance by the Curlew Theatre, in collaboration with the Irish Theatre Group and the Irish Club in the Netherlands.

10 May: Embassy of Ireland commemorates the Easter Rising centenary

The Embassy of Ireland hosted a special screening of the documentary 1916: The Irish Rebellion at the Filmhuis in The Hague.

21 March: Student from the University of Leiden visit the Embassy of Ireland in advance of trip to Dublin

On 21 March 2016, students from the University of Leiden visited the Embassy of Ireland to learn about the tech industry in Ireland.

16 March: Ambassador Neary hosts St. Patrick's Day reception at Residence of Ireland

On 16 March 2016, Ambassador Neary and his wife Kathleen hosted over 150 guests at the official residence of Ireland in celebration of St. Patrick's Day.

15 March: Ambassador Neary attends Tourism Ireland's press awards

On 15 March 2016, Ambassador Neary attended the 10th annual Tourism Ireland press awards in Amsterdam, recognising the work of journalists and bloggers who write about Irish tourism.

13 March: Ambassador Neary opens St. Patrick's Day Festival, The Hague

On 13 March 2016, Ambassador Neary opened the 6th annual St. Patrick's Day festival in The Hague, organised in association with the Irish Club and The Hague GAA.

29 January: Ireland Netherlands Business Association holds AGM

On 12 January 2016, the Ireland Netherland Business Association (INBA) held it's Boards Meeting and AGM at the Embassy of Ireland in the Hague.

6-8 January: Taoiseach Enda Kenny concludes successful trade mission to The Netherlands

The Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, T.D., concluded a successful trade mission to The Netherlands and Germany from 6 to 8 January. The trade mission was focused on strengthening Ireland's economic recovery by increasing export markets, advancing trade opportunities and attracting investment to Ireland.
