In December 2015 Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Charles Flanagan TD, visited the United Arab Emirates following an invitation from his Emirati counterpart; HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Visit of the Chairman of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs & Trade to the Gulf

The Embassy supported a visit to Doha and Kuwait by Mr Pat Breen, Chairman of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade. Mr Breen, who was an invited panellist at the Doha Forum, had meetings with the Qatari Prime Minister and with his counterpart in the Advisory Council.

Visit of Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mr Richard Bruton

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mr Richard Bruton T.D., visited Dubai on 19 April. He later led a large Irish trade Delegation to Qatar on 22 April and followed with a visit to Abu Dhabi on 23 April. The Embassy worked closely with Enterprise Ireland to organise and deliver the successful programme.

The Embassy supported the visit by Minister Paul Kehoe on the occasion of the inaugural GAA World Games. The Minister and Ambassador Hennessy both delivered statements to the Business Forum with which the week-end programme opened.
