Dual Citizens & Permanent Residents
Australian citizens and permanent residents can now travel to and from Australia without applying for a travel exemption. However, given the evolution of the virus and the unpredictable nature of outbreaks, restrictions may be subject to change at short notice.
Irish Citizens - Entering Australia
The Australian Government announced a lifting of restrictions for all visa holders who are fully vaccinated travelling to Australia effective from 21 February 2022 https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/vaccinated-travellers#toc-7
Effective 6th July unvaccinated visa holders do not​ need a travel exemption to travel to Australia
Please be advised that entry into Australia is a matter for the Australian Department of Home Affairs, and all queries regarding travel restrictions should be directed there in the first instance.

Latest travel advice for passengers travelling from Australia to Ireland:
Travellers to Ireland will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative PCR test for travel to Ireland.
- Travellers to Ireland will no longer be required to complete a Covid-19 Passenger Locator Form
- There are no post-arrival testing or quarantine requirements for travellers to Ireland.
- Any individual that develops COVID-19 symptoms while in Ireland should follow the HSE guidance in relation to isolation and undertaking antigen or PCR testing as appropriate.

Proof of Vaccination
Irish passport-holders who were vaccinated outside of the EU are now eligible to apply for an EU Digital COVID Certificate (EU-DCC). Further information - including on vaccines recognized under the scheme - is available here: https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/3a698-eu-digital-covid-certificate/. For individuals vaccinated in Australia, we encourage you to apply for an International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate. Please note, From 1st February 2022, vaccine certificates for primary vaccination series will not be accepted for travel within the EU if more than 270 days have passed since the final dose in the primary vaccine series.
