25 November 2020It has become a tradition for Ireland to support the launch of the UN’s 16 days against violence against women and girls campaign, also called “Orange the World”, and this year the Embassy led on the campaign in Slovakia. Representatives of 17 diplomatic missions in Bratislava supported the initiative by wearing orange, the colour that the UN has chosen to symbolise this cause, which has become even more relevant during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ambassador Ó Riain, together with her colleagues and Slovak leadership including president Zuzana Čaputová proudly stand against violence against women and girls.
